my wife and I may come to smu in fifth sem.
we have to take path 2, intro to clin med and any other 5th sem classes.
do we get to go to hospital? if so, how often?
is reliable and affordable daycare available? is attendance required in class? ie, can one go, while one watches baby?
is there Kaplan or some other step I prep course? are classes case based or straight lecture?

I am a transfer also. If you want to transfer to the Maine program it is probably possible to do so. We recieved a letter a couple of weeks ago that 5th semesters who were not enrolled in the masters program would be allowed to atsy in Maine. The program up here is super. Dr. W for path is awesome, and Dr. T who teaches ICM is tough but very good also. For Maine, you do a preceptorship with a local physician for 4-6 weeks, really get hands on experience. They also do Grand Rounds at the local hospital, Maine Med Center. If you are going to Cayman, I don't know. If you have any questions, pm me.

If you do the program in Maine can you do clinical rotations there?
If not, what SMU sites can you do all your 3rd or 4th year rotations at?

To the best of my knowledge they don't allow transfers into 5th semester in Maine unless they were enrolled and have taken courses with St Joseph's previously. Your best bet would be to contact Daryl Frazier in Admissions at the Florida office.
No you cant do 3rd year rotations in Maine currently. I believe theyre trying to work on that though. Two 4th year students are going to start their electives at Maine Medical Center this fall though.
