Hi,
would Vonage work in Dominica? I can't see why it couldn't...if you have internet access in your apartment, the vonage box should work right?
Has anyone had any experiance with it?
Thanks

I use LINGO (www.lingo.com (http://www.lingo.com)), another VOIP, here in the States and it has worked out pretty well. However, I asked if it would work if I brought it to another country and they said "as long as you have a high speed internet connection, your local US number will work in anywhere. All you have to do is bring your Lingo phone adapter with you and plug it in.

Hello,

I believe as long as you have internet you can have a Vonage Box. I know a guy who is living in India right now, but – via his Vonage – has a Cleveland, Ohio number. Thus, anyone wanting to call him simply has to make a local call. The flip-side of that coin is that if he wants to call his next door neighbor (in India) it is an international call. It will be the same way for us (unless everyone has Vonage based in the US).

I was looking into it yesterday. The ballpark cost is $14 for 500 minutes or $24 for unlimited calls. Hope this helps. Let me know if you get any more info, as I plan on brining Vonage down…

Take care

FYI, Lingo is $19.95 per month for unlimited calls to the US, Europe, Canada, etc. You get voicemail and all those other extras free. The first month is also free.

I understand that you can also get VOIP service on the island - but not likely for that price.
