Okay, first of all, I consider myself a bit of a tea fanatic; I am a big tea-drinker, and I am picky about the tea I drink. What brands/kinds of tea are available on the island? Also, along the line of drinks, I am a fan of Smirnoff... is it available on the island? What about Coca-cola? And lastly, is there quality chocolate available? These are very important! :D

tea. yes. dont remember the brand. but i think its like lipton. i am a big avid tea drinker also and i just brought down the tea bags myself. they dont take up too much room and weight.
smirnoff...u mean the vodka itself or the drink, doesnt matter cuz gnd has both of them. but they only have the orginal smirnoff drink, no any of smirnoff twist or stuff like that.
coca cola..yes. have that also.
chocolate...yes but quality wise i dunno, never had them before.

Thanks for your concise and informative reply! I do like the Smirnoff twisted, but obviously it's not something I could pack :) and as far as chocolate, I just hope it's not Hershey's. I have a large collection of teas, first flush darjeelings, assams, and blends, so I think I'll just bring some with me. Can't stand lipton.
Cheers!

I definitely concur. Lipton, Nestea and Red Rose shouldn't even be called "tea". More like tiny shavings of bitter cardboard. I much prefer PG Tips, Tetley and Typhoo.

mm Tetley. I dunno if it's just me, but Tetley from England tastes a lot better than Tetley from North America.

the grenadian chocolate company makes honestly some of the best chocolate in the world. grenadian cocoa is actually so good that valrona uses it
that being said ivan wiped out most of it and we ate the rest last term :)
coca cola is so sugary here much more so than in the US but you can get UK coke light. good luck and you are probably better off bringing your tea

Actually, it is spelled Chrysanthemum. And I quite like plain chrysanthemum tea (just the flowers), as well as marigold, narcissus, and cornflower teas (really tisanes). But I've never been much of a fan of green tea.... too vegetal in my opinion. Seems like I'm drinking freshly mown grass. I can sometimes handle the flavoured green teas though.
That's too bad about the chocolate factory, it sounded so good!
As far as U.S. Tetley versus U.K. Tetley-- I have noticed a difference as well. Another product with incarnations in both nations is Nutella, and there is a marked difference between the U.S. version and the U.K. version. I think it may have something to do with importation laws, I'm not sure.

both PG Tips and Typhoo are available at the Real Value. Lipton's is Yellow Label so its a little different than the US variety.
