Sparking yet another cell phone thread, looks like AT&T/Cingular customers are being acquired once again:

KINGSTON, JAMAICA - As Digicel, one of the leading mobile telecommunications company in the Caribbean, moves forward to acquire Cingular Wireless' Caribbean and Bermuda operations, customers can look forward to the substantial benefits of this expansion of the Digicel family.

The acquisition, which remains subject to regulatory approval and other conditions and requirements, is anticipated to close as soon as possible. Digicel and Cingular are committed to making the transition a seamless experience for the Cingular Wireless customer.

According to Digicel Group Chief Operating Officer, Donal O'Shaughnessy, "We are working with Cingular on full integration plans and committed that this process will be as seamless as possible with former Cingular customers being able to keep their mobile phone, telephone number as well as their current benefits following the acquisition.
