Hey everyone,

I've read over and over about a special relationship between Harvard and SMU. Can someone please explain to me what exactly the relationship is?
Do harvard profs teach at SMU? and since the president of SMU talked with harvard and establised some 3 year contract with them, what does it mean for the students? How will this effect the students?

a lil confused.

Maybe others who are in SMU right now can comment more on this, but this relationship allows Harvard faculty to teach at SMU...and also setup a Research Program which in my opinion is very important right now.
So it affects us mainly in academics and research programs.

If SMU will be conducting research with Harvard that is great news. That will only strengthen the school's credibility. I heard that when we finish ICM we will have a card that states that we were certified by CME or something to that nature...Is this true? Will look into it.

Hey everyone...

The only thing that I know and have been informed of, is that Harvard and St. Matt's are working together on the study of hyperberic (sp?) medicine. That's really all I know. However, I know this opprotunity will give a tremendous shot in the arm to the research efforts here at St. Matt's. I hope others here can comment more if they know additional information about the Harvard/St. Matt's relationship.

probably not a whole lot to the students there now since these things take time to set up. for futire students though it could be a great thing depending on what the exact set up is. if it is purely a contract to use SMU facilities to conduct their research there it wouldn't measn as much as if some students actually got to publish with harvard which would be awsome for the school. for now though maybe a guest lecturere here and there? thats pretty cool in itself too....

I think someone asked it somewhere...but from the wording it looks like the research
program will begin in December... maybe smuinfo can elaborate.
