Clinical Clerkships in NY??

Hi everyone,

A few weeks ago, I saw in the paper that KMC in Manipal was now doing Clinical Clerkships in New York State. However, when I asked the Director of Foreign Admissions here, she kind of gave me the runaround about it. I was wondering if anyone out there has gone to KMC for the first two (pre-clinical) years, then went to the US to do their clinical years (3rd and 4th years). If so, how did you do it, and did you have to come back to Manipal to do that extra 1.5 year internship?

Also, if the length of education here at KMC is 5.5 years, do we have to stay for that entire length of time if we are planning on going back to the US, or is it possible to leave after 4 years (after taking Steps 1 and 2 of the USMLEs)?? I'd ask here, but the administration is very vague on this, and seems insistent on keeping me here for a very long time. :rolleyes:

it's is possible to do your clinicals in states- nY through the twinning program between kmc and aua. I don't know any others ways to do clincals in NY.
