Is it true that MUA's clinicals in Atlanta are ending dec 31? What clinicals would they have left? If so, what would happen to schools which have clinicals only in this state?
Also, what states are MUA grads eligible for residency in? Does it depend on what campus you attend? Which campus is better? Thanx

I am currently a student of MUA and have not heard this rumor that clincals will be ending in Atlanta Dec 31. Can you please elaborate? We are supposed to have clinicals in Chicago, but I've heard most people attend clinicals in Atlanta.

I can't remember which post I read this in, but someone said that MUA wouldn't have clinical rotations in Atlanta after Dec 31...don't know if he was a student or not, so I was hoping someone could clear this up

The rotations in Atlanta are through the GMC group who has the relationship with the Atlanta Medical Center. They/GMC are in negotiations on their contract with the AMC but things look good. GMC has assured us that they will have rotations available after Dec 31st - if not with AMC then with another hospital - most likely in the Atlanta or nearby area.
We also have rotations in Chicago. Most of the students do seem to like Atlanta as the weather is nicer - this is what they tell me when they ask for placement. However, to be honest - you really are not going to be outside very much during your rotations. You will be studying just as much if not more during your Clinical Sciences then you did in your Basic Sciences.

I am currently in Atlanta and have had my rotations scheduled through July 2006. Some of my rotations are at hospitals other then AMC but they are still in Atlanta.
We can do all of our cores AND electives in Atlanta.
I'm going to go to other hospitals to do electives to get more exposure before residency applications.

Hi, I'm a currently a prospective student and would like to know a list of the states you can do clinical rotations in as well as, where can I obtain a list of MUA Alumni and their residency placements? Also is MUA a sister university of SABA? If so, is the quality of education comparable?
One more thing, is it recognized by the WHO, and ECFMG accredited and listed in the IMED directory?

Mua nevis and saba are sister schools and owned by the same person. Mua Belize is owned by the ********'s and were once apart of the Mua-Nevis and Saba family. The three schools are still on good terms with each other and the owners still have a very good relationship with one another even though they are no longer affliated.
Also, Mua Belize is recognized by the WHO, and ECFMG accredited and listed in the IMED directory. You can visit the IMED site http://imed.ecfmg.org/ and check for yourselves.
As for, clinical rotations, there are rotations available in Chicago, Atlanta, Canada and England. There are more states which the school is working on and will be updated in the future. Also, if there is a state in which you would like to do your rotations you can set it up on your own, and ask administration for their help.
