Thanks * Thanks * and very special THANKS to * for going and acting like kids and complaining about that people did better then you on the old exams. THE END RESULTS = NEW EXAMS THAT ARE HARDER THEN ANY OTHER EXAM IN THE PAST. The OFFICAL class average went from 85 on exam I to 87 on exam II and to a 57 yes 57 on exam III (with points added). All your classmates want to thank you for what you did, I hope you all feel better now that you brought the whole class down with you.
PS most of us never saw any old exam and did just fine on our own but thank you for complaining so that our exams get much harder.

You should be thanking the cheaters..

No I should be thanking ***** **** and ******* for making us all do bad on the third exam, I never cheated on any exam and I got in the high 90's for both and got killed on the third exam. I want to see all of you take the third exam and see how you do. There was no reason to make the exam so hard, last years exams were no where like this one. They deserve having there names mentioned because if they were so right about what they did then no reason not to be proud of it. ONCE MORE JUST BECAUSE THEY DID BAD DOES NOT MEAN THE REST OF US HAVE TO GO DOWN WITH THEM.

Hey doc35, I agree with you but look at the bright side. Now we are going to be more prepare for the step 1. :headspin: To the people that you are refering ( or people like that in general, nobody specifically ) i will recommend them: to study more, concentrate in your stuff, and forget about who have old exams or their way to study, because if they are really cheating like you are saying it is their problem, remember, what goes around comes around. ( this is applicable for EVERYONE in this planet). I never cared about the people who had the old exams, all that I did was study hard to understand the material for the exams and for life (most important part) and I still got grades on the three exams, the point is........I don't see why you cannot do the same. Think about it.;)
Good luck guys on the shelf exam this monday.

Great point. I never understood the thought process behind cheating in med school. So what if you get all A's on the exams? When you can't pass the USMLE, you are hosed. Your grades in your courses will have little bearing on your future. If you have average grades and a 245 on the USMLE, you will do much better in life than the tool with a 99.4% average and a 186 on the USMLE on his third attempt. G

So do yall think i should reconsider SMU and stick to SABA. These prof. should not do that kind of thing, Thats really wrong to give a test where the avg. is 57, that does no one any good.

Hey Jake,
I don't think you should reconsider SMU. The reason I say that is because every school has things like this happend. It's just the SMU's dirty laundry just tends to get smeared all over this forum for some reason. Do what's best for you and try to ignore the talk. Take care! :)

how is that wrong? i think the opposite...a class average of 85-87 tells me one of two things is going on. cheating, or easy tests. this is med school, and these things are supposed to be pretty tough.
i have never heard of a med school where there weren't a LOT of classes that wound up with these sorts of disappointing scores.
when you go to med school, be prepared to struggle through a lot of tough tests with a lot of disappointing grades. a class average of 85 on easy tests will only hurt you when it comes to taking a very important test (step 1, baby)

Im not basing my decision on one test, its the fact that all this repeating tests questions and then the teacher making the exam 10 times more difficult happened freshman year of highschool and im really sick of it. At UT austin, we arent even allowed to take exams with us, all we get is scantrons. And it works great, its and even playing field this way.

Then I think that you should go to Saba or somewhere else because you will not find perfection here. NO student should try to sell this school to prospective students. We have told you the ups and downs of this school and if there is something that you don't like about it then simply go somewhere else. No one is forcing you to come. I could write the good and bad of this school until I am blue in the face, but I am not. I know and I'm sure you know them already, so if you have doubts about SMU then look for a school that you won't have any doubts.

jeez people, so you got slaughtered on an exam.....get over it. complain to usmle when you see a question on your exam where you swear there are no right answers or when all 5 seem correct, or in my case a-h seem correct. an 85 average seems inflated and props to the professors for putting everyone back in their role bc a 57 shows you couldnt answer the majority of the test.....suck it up

Boo hoo whaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! someone had old exams and some hater went and snitched. Never in all of my 5 semesters at SMU have I seen such cry babies. And because of the fact that you all are cry babies, I am glad you guys got your faces bashed in on the neuro exam, maybe that will teach you to focus on your work and stop being overly concerned about the next person. Don't blame anyone else for your failure. you took the exam and youare the one's who stunk it up because you wasted your time trying tobe hurtful. Don't blame the cheaters, because later on the cheaters will blame themselves.
All this crying is frustrating and annoying, and makes me ashamed to be apart of this university. You guys should grow up and get lives.---acetre
P.S. This is not skepticism. It reality without the added sugar.

After reading that, I must say one word, "Whoa" and then I would like to say, "Thankyou". :)
Everybody in this school is an adult, and each person must assign responsiblity to himself for his/her performance.
Playing the "blame game" will get you nowhere in life...

Funnygrl maybe you should tell that to your friend "F" after all she was one of the 3 that went crying about them doing bad on old exams and everyone else doing good. Either way its over but shame on the three for what they did to the class, and i dont think there is one person in 2nd semester who doesn't know who they are.
One last commit, people are bashing the past 2 exams high class average. WELL the current semester has a lot of very bright people in it, from biostats to biochem the class has been doing better then any other semester class. Just because the average is high does not mean the exams are easy. The last neuro exam was just not a proper exam, bad bad bad pictures that counted to about 20 out of 50 question. A few other question did not really apply to what we learned in lecture. EITHER WAY IT'S DONE, is it fair no but neither is life, but shame on the 3 for doing what they did.

THE ITT GUY WENT DOWN TO CHECK THE BIOCHEM PROFS COMPUTER BECAUSE YOU BROUGHT TO HIS ATTENTION THAT STUDENTS WERE HACKING INTO HIS COMPUTER. WE HAVE WITNESSES (HEARD AND SAW U TALKING ABOUT IT) AND I PERSONALLY KNOW THE ITT GUY. JUST STOP PRETENDING TO BE SO INNOCENT.
Are you insinuating that it is somehow wrong to stop multiple people from hacking into a proffs computer? Is that behavior that you condone?

Two words of advice to most of the posters on this thread.
GROW UP.
You are in Medical School. Show a little maturity.

several people can expect PM's to edit their posts in the near future on this thread. Failure to do so will result in warnings and potential banning.
