Order Books b4 arriving?

I recently received a notice in the mail that said I needed to order all of my books before August 8th, is it possible to wait till I arrive to get my books?

depends how early you will arrive.

if you're earlier than the rest, you can buy used books from upperclassmen. they usually set up shop around the library with tons of books to sell.

you really don't need many books for class, as the class handouts usually suffice. You may want to get some board review books instead, but many upperclassmen have these to sell. I doubt the busy 1st semester schedule will allow you any textbook-reading time.

Some clubs like RCF allows members to borrow books for the semester. You have to arrive early though. If you want to buy books in advance you can buy it through the islandthrift store (that's if they are still around). I purchased a few books through them.

I would advise ordering or bringing your books (& gloves!) for the next first semester (Fall 2005). With the new curriculum, there won't be so many people selling their books because they'll continue to use them in second. Also, the bookstore and library do NOT have enough books or supplies to go around and it can take over a month if you "preorder" after you get here.
