I'm currently preparing for the step 1 and will possibly take it on oct 2005.
Is it possible to make to the match of 2007 for residency?

I will respond to this because i know everyone else on the forum are tired of these questions...do the math. If you know you need to complete 81 weeks of clinicals after 5th semester and you know when you are taking step one then figure it out. You would have up until may 31 of 2007 to complete your clinical program in order to graduate on time and be able to start residency on july 1. you dont have to be done with clinicals to participate in the match you just have to be projected to graduate by may 31 of the year would start your residency.

Because i'm a nice person, here's what I can come up with (though i've posted something similar before....)

October 2005: take step 1
Results: November 2005.

Start rotations: Dec 2005/Jan 2006 (let's make it january)

Total Rotations to be completed:90 wks minus 12 wks (miami) = 78 weeks

50 weeks(52wks/year minus Christmas break): Jan 06-Jan 07

28 weeks (28/4 = 7 months), therefore:

Jan 07 - July 07.

It appears, you will miss the May 31 deadline by a few months (2 perhaps).

If you can do your exam earlier and take NO BREAKS, it will be possible for you to match 2007.
