i am a desi. bangla-desi that is. i am coming down from ontario canada. we desis should get together once we are at the island (along with our non-desi freinds) and have a pot luck or some thing ( upholding the strict desi tradiation of having a potluck when ever 3 or more desi gets together).

Wow, ya'll "desis" seem pretty racist. It seems as though you only want to hang out with each other and exclude all other races from your "click". Your the only race on this forum that is specifically trying to gather yourselves together. Even at my school I have noticed that all the "desis" only hang out with each other. I personally think you all need to be more open-minded and accepting. I have friends from all races and enjoy learning about their cultures and beliefs. Limiting yourselves to each other will only prevent you from developing your personalities.

I am sure every desi on this form has more non-desi friends than otherwise.. However, knowing one's own culture and meeting people who share that culture actually helps bring out a better personality in people, contrary to what you think.
Please refrain from unnecessary comments. We are all here to help each other out and we are trying our best to do that right.. Let us keep this experience enjoyable. !! Please !!

hahaha. i dont know he might be cooli no. 1. this is a mis-concept that desi ppl don't hang out with other people. 1 in every 4 ppl is desi, we have basically survived 1000s of years of persecution from a host of foreign rulers based on our mingling abilty. you go to any corner of the world and you will find a 'desi' for sure.

i dont know why, some ppl in this forum are so quick to judge. this is the second time someone got into ' you don't mingle, you start mingling right now' in two weeks. i will mingle with whom i want to mingle with, not because someone says so.

I came up with the name cooli b/c, for some odd reason ,when I was entering my username the rapper "Coolio" popped up in my head so I thought I'd use his name as my own, but without the "o" to be "o"riginal (yes I know I'm such a dork!)
