Can someone help me?! please!! I've got a couple of questions.
I'm scheduled to leave for dominica on the 25th of August. I was wondering what text books I would need for only the first semester. All the information I've gotten has been for textbooks for both first and second semesters. Also I was wondering when I would get my financial aid money so that I can afford housing and text books, how does that work? thanks!

Unfortunately, you have to shell out of pocket until you get the financial aid which will probably come in early Sept. Borrow money from friends or family and pay it back in Sept.

Blee, in case you hadn't read about this, Ross has recently integrated the 1st and 2nd semesters. So now, each course you used to take in 1st semester is spread out over 1st and 2nd and the same is true for those you used to take in 2nd. SO, you will need a bunch of books, but they will be the same books you use in 2nd.
If you completed your FAFSA and loan applications, you can look online at Sallie Mae to find out what date your loan check will be disbursed. Add a few days to that since your check has to be sent down to you in Dominica. At any rate, it won't be until at least the day you register since they have to verify your presence in Dominica before handing you the check.

If you do not have money, ross will advance you $2000 USD, which will be deducted from your finaid check, when you receive it later.
the finaid checks are usually ready for you to pickup during registration, the week before classes start.

awesome thank you all for the help! :p
Also you could buy most books on the Rock from upper classmen pretty cheap. For most subjects you'll be getting and printing dept. handouts, which will be essential for the tests.
Hope it helps.
Good Luck
