hiya guys!
I followed the advice & called over-n-over again & finally got hold of someone alive on the phone!...and found out that the class for fall'03 term is full and now the admissions are being forwarded for the january'04 term. So, my admission will possibly be in the jan'04 class.
So whats the difference between starting in the fall'03 vs. jan'04....other than the obvious, it starts in january. But overall, what difference does it make? like are you a semester late than what you should be in or it hardly makes a difference? :?
Another question I had was about admission to SGU. Apparently the class for fall'03 is NOT yet full @ sgu, and I did apply there also. So my application is being considered for the fall'03.
Any suggestions as what one might do? stay put till jan'04 or go one to sgu?
Thanks in advance!

as for SGU vs Ross. thats up to you. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. I can't tell you anything.

As for the January Term. I think the big difference is when you would match.

I think if you started in Jan '04 you'd be in a bind to catch the 2007 match? or is 2008 match? Im not sure. I think you would have some free time from graduation to when you start your residency basically.

Im not sure it would matter so much though because I think you can "moon light"?

I remember reading something about it somewhere, but i can't remember. Maybe some of the doctors who browse this board can give us more insight into this.

Hi-

I did some research on the same exact question-- and pretty much found out that you will definitely make the 2007 Residency match if you start in September and you'll have about 4 months when you're done taking Step 1 and starting your residency. It seems that it's going to be a little harder to make the same 2007 Residency match (which is in August) but it can be done. It's all a matter of how fast your paperwork gets through and things are pretty much out of your hands. I hope this helps. I decided to start in January-- and let fate take its course.

No advice about SGU v. Ross. I've heard great things about Ross and am sure every place has it's advantages and disadvantages.

Good luck!
