Hey,

I know that majority of students get cell phones in GND. I know Grenada is similar to how European phones are - as in SIM cards in GSM phones. I had a pre-paid phone in England, with a SIM card. Though that phone is locked and i think its easier that i don't unlock it because everntually i will be back in England.
Anyways, I am based in the USA now. Does anyone have suggestions about cellphones? From what I've read most students get phones on sale during orientation week, with Digicell or C&W.
Now is it better to wait and buy a phone there? Or can i buy a phone in the USA that is made to work in GND and get a SIM card there?
Any suggestions....

THANKS!

If you geta phone in the US , it needs to be a world phone (at least tri band)and unlocked or else the SIMs won't work. Now I'm not sure how it works if you get a cingular phone in the states and try to put a cingular grenada chip in it- I have Digicel and had my home phone unlocked so I could put the Digicel SIM in it.
Anyone konw about Cingular?

there is a local cingular service here. so if u have a gsm cingular phone, u can just bring it here and swap out the sim card.
