Do they match your computer to the recipt for the computer Tax when you come back to grenada as an upper termer?

I ask cause I got a new computer over the summer and don't want to pay the import tax again...

ahhh well that sux, maybe you can peel off the old sticker and put on the new or amerijet it might be cheaper but you wont have your laptop for a few days....

it seems that the 1st thing they ask for is you computer, the tax receipt and they check that number!!!

Coming back after Ivan, people had to pay tax on the SAME computer because they didn't have their receipt with them!

i bought my laptop on ebay and paid with paypal so the only receipt i have is the paypal print out. it doesnt have a number on it or anything... do you think customs will trip about that?

Is it possible to ask the place that you bought the laptop from to change the price and thus tax?

wai2w2c,
the custom will write the number of ur laptop when u get here. u dont need to worry about that now. just make sure whatever receipt that they give you when ur laptop, u keep that safe for the next 2 years. it will be ur proof that you have already paid for it and dont need to pay for it again when u enter gnd, assuming u bring the same laptop

Even if you made a receipt of your own, you still have to pay customs on whatever price you show on there. Might be simpler just to print out a plastic strip with your old serial # (which will matches your handwritten customs duty receipt) & paste it over your new one. They'll of course know if you ever tried to fake their own receipts.

phtoshop, or if u are really good with word u can do it on that also. i have never done it =]

just don't take one. They'll ask you how much you paid, tell thenm something reasonable and they will charge you accordingly. Did this , told them my computer cost about $1000 US and the charged me, something like 107EC(70US) in tax.
