Three people I worked with in a lab are all now doing their residencies and gave me the same advice when I told them I was going to med school: start studying for Step I the day you begin your first semester. Not intensive study but a daily look over one of the review books. All of them did well on it (235+) and were adamant that I should take the same approach. My question is, how common is this? And if it's a good idea, which book(s) should one look at? I've only heard of the First Aid series. I'd appreciate your input.

First Aid for Step 1 is a definite must. Also, listen to Goljan CDs will help.
