Hi,
As far as I know, the popular Satellite Internet providers like DirecWay offer services only in the US.
If they do offer services in SABA, then it would be a great deal. You could purchase the satellite for $600 and with a $100 mail in rebate, you would end up paying $500 only. Monthly you would pay $60 bucks for a 'Home' plan which lets one user access or $90 bucks for a 'Professional' plan which lets 2 concurrent users (ideal for roommates). Though the DirecWay pricing -- both the initial set up and the monthly fee -- does not seem to be much different than the DSL service on SABA -- $500 set up and $50 monthly fee -- at the end of the day, you would get a much faster Internet connection and much more reliable transmission. Plus.. once the dish is set up, students can pass the costs from one semester to the other without having to purchase new equipment everytime. All they have to do is to pay for the monthly fee.
Thanks,
International.
