I applied to Ross end of June and got a call on Wednesday for an interview in CA. :D They said the next available one was Fri, July 18th or I would have to wait until they relocate their office (to somewhere on Wilshire Blvd), in which case the earliest time would be first week of August. Although it makes things hectic, I opted for the sooner date to get it out of the way so I can focus on the Aug. MCAT!
SO - - I just booked my flight out to Burbank, dropping $200 bucks. My interview is with Don Ainesworth, the retired Assistant Director of Admissions. Has anyone had him as an interviewer or know how he's like? What kind of questions should I expect at this interview? Any questions that could throw me off guard? (Probably) Like most people, I have several C's on my record from Bio and Physics - is he going to grill me on this? DON, after interview: "STICK A FORK IN THIS KID, HE'S DONE!"
PS - I have been browsing this site non-stop for a week now, and these fora are invaluable! Keep the communication flowing!
i interviewed in california with Marty Felgen. I don't know if they will use the same format or not. But with my interview, they showed me a 15 min video of ross and then the interview started. He started out telling me about ross and then he started asking questions. Mostly it's about your essay, grades and lastly ethical questions. It's usually the usual ones which include abortion, transplants etc. After that he asked if I had any questions.
He will ask you why you got C's or why your grades weren't as high as you want it so be prepared to answer. There was a thread on here before...one of the first ones I believe that listed the exact questions that was asked. I don't know if you read it or not. But it seems like they don't deviate much from interviewer to interviewer. Just go in there and be confident. Make sure you let them know that you are level headed and can take living in a an island out of nowhere. Good Luck!
Good luck today! I had a Dr. Nguygen and she interviewed quite differently so it may not help. They are very helpful though and I've found that in interviews you should ask questions too.
Maybe you'll be reading this after, so breathe it's over!

I got back, and it wasn't that bad. As far as the questions, it was first background info and then he asked me some ethical questions such as: Do you believe in assisted suicide? What are your feelings about stem cell research? What is your opiniI?;n that healthcare is headed?
He seemed like a nice guy, and then asked me what questions I had. I asked him about Ross being acquired by DeVry, and what he felt the future holds. He had NO IDEA of what I was talking about. He was like "Um, no, Ross is owned by a group of private investors." Not wanting to undermine his authority, I just replied "Oh, then it must have just been some rumors on some website then." Did that make me look ignorant or naive?
I don't know but what am I to think of Ross when the interviewer doesn't even know something that obvious, which posted all over the internet, and has been news since March?! Not favorable, I'll tell you that much. And this whole incident with the Administrator throwing a fit in front of the students wishing to STUDY and dismissing their concerns with such apathy compounds things even further.
Still though, I hope I will get in. It's a great opportunity to have the chance to be a doctor. However, the lack of concern for students and communication gaps amongst administration is very concerning/disheartening, which leads me to re-evaluate my outlook on attending Ross.
