The message is for anyone including the Admin of MUA Belize:

At this moment I am deciding if I should attend MUA Belize or not. In my research and talking to several students that have/are attending MUA Belize I came across some interesting information.
I have learned that TERI student loans received by MUA Belize by a number of students, have yet to be paid out to the student after tuition was settled and no monies were owed. And it takes more than one hand to count the number of students still waiting, some as long as 3-4 months.
My question is: Is this not illegal? And why are they holding on to this money.
Is this school in financial trouble? or do they have a reputation for this?
I know that MedAcheiver loans were cut to schools because of such an incident, and I am sure many would agree, we can't lose TERI.
Anyone’s feedback would be greatly appreciated.

No student has ever had to wait 3-4 months for their refund. The current wait time for students is 6 weeks from the date that we deposit the check as this is how long our bank holds the check. Once the bank has released the funds, the student portion is given to the student and the tuition portion goes to the school.

To provide you with some information about educational loans, it's important to know that you only recieve the loan if you are approved by the school. This means that you must be in good standing acadmecially and professionally - you must be progressing in the program according to the SOP set out by the University (Standards of Progress) and you cannot have any disciplinary holds or hearings pending.

The MedAchiever loans were stopped to all foreign medical schools for reasons internal at Key Bank. They choose to go out of the 'alternative' loan market and focus more on schools that are Stafford approved. This was a Board of Director's decision.

Many students from MUA-Belize were escorted out from the AMC/GMCG clinical rotation sites last week due to non-payment while their loan money has been kept hostage from the dean of this med school for more than 3 months. Is this a legal or not? What can this dean possibly do with those students loan money? Can the dean explain for the prospective students why loan money has been kept hostage down in Belize? Does that situation have to see with the new construction?

That is a misleading info. Do not even think about going to that school if you care about your money. They take students money to buy nice condos instead of paying for clinical rotation
