I am IN .. I am IN .. I am finally IN ..
After years of pre-med and countless hours of discussions whether to go the Medicine route or not.. I finally applied and -- I GOT IN --

I am on CLOUD 10 (a bit above 9) right now and I just wanted to share this with the best buddies of my pre-med career --- my fellow ValueMD folks.

I cannot thank all you folks enough for answering all my questions.. and making me feel a part of the group..You guys are truly GOD SEND.
I am sure my wife will agree with me... as she has been thru this with me all along...and she has reviewed all these posts with me to find answers to our difficult adventure.

Ask away any questions you might have .. Now that I have some 'real' experience :) , I might be able to help answer questions better than before. ...

Thanks once again..
International.

Salutations "IntlMed":

First off, congratulations on your acceptance. I am sure you are feeling really excited right now. As well you should be. Getting accepted is the first step towards accomplishing your goals. What the heck, take your wife out for a nice romantic dinner tonight for a celebration. You guys have finally made the leap and you might as well enjoy it. Try to relax and have as much fun as possible before attending. Other than that, there is nothing I can say that will make you more happier than you are at this moment. Ciao.

Congrats IntlMed!

A couple of questions for you:

1) When was your interview and how did you feel it went?

2) When did they let you know that you were accepted?

3) What terms are you planning on starting?

4) Would you mind sharing your stats? GPA (overall and science)? MCAT?
Take care and once again, congrats and all the best in the future.

Thank You Thank You Thank You...

Restaurant idea taken ...Thank You.. Took my wife out for dinner.. had great time !!!

I actually put in a reaaaaaaaallllly early app. I applied for Fall 2006, as I wanted some time to settle personal stuff (financial, job etc.. )here in the US .. So, I guess I can start a 'FALL 2006 Acceptance thread' ... !!!!! I guess I might be the first one here right ?? Correct me if I am wrong..

Coming to the stats.. . Moderate stats... 3.2-3.4 on overall and sci ---but had a great Pre-Med GPA .. So I guess that took care of me not taking the MCAT exam... But the interviewer himself told me that the GPA need not be high for acceptance.. they are just looking for a few good women and men, who can be the best physicians.. They are definitely looking for people with good communication skills.. This is what I really love about SABA.. They emphasize on the person not on numbers....

Definitely focus on your extra curriculars on the essay..that seems to be the part that we miss out most often.. Trust me !! !They look at it..

The interview was very relaxed. 50% why medicine + why me questions. Other 50% were personal stuff like extra currics etc.. I will give more details on the interview process soon.

From the day I sent in my app.. to the day I got my acceptance letter in the mail, the time taken was EXACTLY 4 weeks. I actually wasn't ready for an earlier interview date .. so things slowed down a little bit.. so.. technically it is possible to have everything done in 3-4 weeks.. I guess the timing should be pristine....

So, SABA.. here I come.. :) I am coming with excitement

Please do not hesitate to ask if you have anyother questions.
