Hi,

I am planning to attend Saba. I need a one night stay on St. Maarten on September 1st. I will arrive in the evening to St. Maarten and will leave like 5:00am September 2nd to catch the ferry going to Saba next morning.

I wanted to know how much are one night rooms, or if possible can I just stay at the Airport the night and go catch the ferry in the morning. Are there waiting rooms or such sort of things so that I can catch the morning ferry. Note I will have a quite a bit of luggage with me. Any help would be great. Thanks.

why not stay for awhile. U can buy more stuff Cost-U-Less(like a baby Costco) and not have to worry about it when u arrive on Saba.

i think ur looking at about ballpark 80 bucks a hotel room.

And the airport is tiny. I'm pretty sure it shuts down at night so u can't sleep there.

Hi,

I know a friend who is at AUC and is it possible to crash with him for the night. I mean what is the school's policy on more than one person in a room.

$20/night. But if it's just one night, eh.. no one will know. Or you can take that $80 you'd spend on a hotel, and put it down for some 3-card at Casino Royale or Atlantis and play the night away.

Hi,

I wanted to know when the classes at AUC are starting, so that I don't inconvenience my friend too much. As well, what is the cost of a taxi from the airport to the AUC Dorm rooms and and the cost back from the Dorm rooms to the ferry docking location.

Oh and will I be able to get a taxi near the dorms at 5 or 6:00 in the morning?

Thanks for the help.

Classes usually start around 8am.. 5 or 6 in the morning? Eerm, probably not.. besdies which Taxis don't usually pass near the dorms, maybe near atlantis which is a few minutes walk. Best bet, just get your friend to drop you off early morning.

Hi,

Can you give me the address or some more information about where I could get a place for $20 a night.

i'm looking at my schedule now... oh yeah, it's booked for SOE... but it's not for the night. he'll only last a minute or two tops.

I think if you're on a budget, you should stay with your friend for the night -- maybe when you arrive at the airport, or when you get to your friend's dorm, call the taxi people and ask them if they pick-up early --

The cheapest place I know of is $90 a night, and that's like a 10 minute ride from the airport...

nice... I came back to the US and realized with the surging housing market. I'll probably be 40 by the time I will be able to afford a house..

I do study, but not having classes makes it hard to focus. Though I am slowly previewing materials for next semester.

When does the next semester start? I am going to stay busy cutting your banter out of good threads and moving it to the "AUC banter" thread
