but are MUA Belize, MUA Nevis, and SABA all affiliated, or the same school, or what? And I think that SABA graduates are eligible for all states (i may be wrong), so if there is an affiliation does that mean MUA grads are also eligible for all states?

Thanks

I do not believe that the three schools are owned by the same group any more. MUA Belize is independent from Saba and MUA Nevis.

state licensure is school specific..

each school has its own charter etc..

mua belize is a separate owned and operated school.. not under the same administration

I called them, and I was told that they don't have any affiliation at all.

Salutations:

MUA Nevis and Saba are owned by the same investors. However, MUA Belize is not. I believe (from reading old posts) that at one point MUA Belize and MUA Nevis used to be sister schools but separated. In either case, if you attend Saba, you may practice in many more states than MUA Belize and MUA Nevis. One example is California. If you intend on practicing in California, then attending Saba will allow you to do so. However, if you attended MUA Belize and MUA Nevis (as of this moment), you would not be able to do so. In the case of California, you must have done all of your medical education in a California approved medical school or else you cannot practice there. No exceptions. Even if you decide to transfer to Saba, you still won't be able to practice in California. Hope that helps answer your question. Ciao.

The MUAB campus began as a branch campus of the MUAN campus. In August of 2003, the MUAB campus obtained its own charter in August of 2003 and in 2004 became an independent campus. We are still on friendly terms with the Saba and MUAN campuses.

As a prior poster stated, each school must fulfill their 'own' requirements for each state licensure board. One school cannot 'ride on the coat tails' of another.

At the current time, our students can apply for licensure in every state, except CA and KS - note that TX is difficult to obtain.

The Licensing guidelines are constantly changing so it is best to check with the requirements in the state(s) which you would like to eventually get licensed in. The following website is pretty good; www.docboard.org (http://www.docboard.org)

It's always best to try to get as much information as possible so that you can make the best decision for you.
