Can anyone give me some insight as to how we go about taking care of our elective clinicals. Does our tuition we pay the school pay for the elective clinicals or do we pay more out of pocket for them? Can we just contact any school or do most try to get the electives done at the hospitals where they already did their cores? Just curious.

Hi Donnie;
Most people seem to do their electives where they did their cores. Be careful re the green book requirements. The hospital must have a residency program or fellowship in the specialty through which you are rotating. An example is nephrology. If they have an internal medicine residency program, but no nephrology residency program, then doing a nephrology elective there won't be green book.
Tuition paid for the clinical costs - but not the cost of applying. For Mt Sinai, they asked me to pay $200 to apply, then the amount for the rotation. I paid the $200 and the school paid for the rotation (out of my tuition). None of the other places I did electives charged me to apply.
It is easier to set up an elective in a hospital that already knows you - they already have your paperwork and an evaluation on you.
