I am very interested in attending Ross.
I do not have a B.S. degree but have 206 units of college units.
I have earned Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and a licensed pharmacist in the state of michigan.
My stats are as follows:
Pre-requisite GPA: 3.25
Pharmacy GPA: 3.03
Math/Science GPA: 3.25
Been in Active Duty for a few years and served as the Assistant chief, Department of pharmacy for a Military facility.
I have not taken the MCAT due duty but will do so ASAP once back in the States. Officer in Charge for Inpatient pharmacy for 2 years and Served as the Recorder and Coordinator of Medication Use Evaluation Committee for the Hospital.
Well, that is some of my stats and info.
Anyone willing to comment on my chances of admission at Ross is welcomed (Positive or Negative)
Thanks,

I think you should go for it!

It seems like your background is pretty solid. You would seem like a good candidate to me.

Good luck!

I think your stats look good. I'd be very surprise if they don't accept you. Can I ask why you are pursuing a different career? Seems to me a pharm. d is a perfectly good occupation.

My advice to you is to prepare well for the Mcat and take it and try to do well and apply for US medical schools, if you don't get in then The royal colledge of medicine in ireland, or SGU or saba. good luck

2ND Year,
As a pharmacist you can only do so much. I would like to be more active in patient care. In another word, I would like to apply the knowledge learned in school to actual patient care. Lets say for more self satisfaction as well as providing more service to patient. Working as a pharmacist in the military arena, I tend to vear off to managing human resources and budget.

isn't a $100,000/salary and 40hrs work not satisfying? The life of a doctor is "gruesome" whilst the life of a pharmacist is happy and almost stress free.

You have an excellent at ross. I hope you are willing to commit 8years of your life for additional education. How old are you now? If medicine is your calling, definitely go for it. I have a friend who is going into pharmacy. What are the bad things about pharmacy?

Pharmacy (+)
1. pharmacist job demand (+++)
2. Pay is excellent (++)
3. flexible work schedule (+)
4. Self satisfaction (-)

If someone wants a stable job with decent pay, pharmacy is the way to go, but if you want to be more involved in patient care and want to apply things you learn from school it is not the right field to go into. YOu will probably end up doing things outside of what you learn. :lol: :P
