Academic Calendar

Hello Everyone,

I spoke to Gardner yesterday and asked them about the Academic Calendar included in the Basic Sciences Handbook. For the Sep 05 semester, the last exams and reading days are Dec 14-16. However, Gardner mentioned that Dec 16 (Friday) s actually a free day and that students can fly back home on that day. I'm thinking of booking a roundtrip flight back for Dec 16 2005 returning 02 Jan 2005 since the fare is pretty good, $529 nonstop to EWR (Newark, New Jersey) from SXM (St. Maarten).

I just thought I'd share this with everyone since we have short breaks.

I'm not sure why they post it that way, but finals have always been on Thursday and Friday is free. People usually hop the boat or plane Thursday evening or Friday morning to St. Maarten and leave ASAP.

Just make sure to schedule plenty of layover time between connections if you're going to do that. So many students are flying then it makes things complicated. Especially if you have a lot of luggage you're taking back with you.

I usually waited until Sat or Sun to leave. :-)

thanks for the info. I will book the flight tonight as well. Its a nonstop flight so there shouldnt be any problems. Ciao
