I read that AUC sends most of their students to NY or NJ for the clinicals. My question is where in NY? Is it in the city? Another thing is that Ive read a number of complaints from people doing their rotations in NY? Is there something I am missing? I would love to live in NY! Thats is one of my dreams! Well not live because I think id perfer a slower lifestyle when Im older, but I would love to study in NY. I think that would be an awesome opportunity to study for two yrs in NY. So why all the complaining? Do people just not like NY or is there something im missing. Do you practice in NY but not in the city? Are there clinicals in the city? If there are, what parts on NY? I would really appreciate any information! Especially from someone who is planning on NY or knows someone who went to NY for their clinicals. Thanks alot everyone! This is a very helpful sight!

thanks for the response anencephalic. How do you like bakersfield cali? Also whats it like during rotations. Do you have a life? How many hours do you work a week? Are you able to take at least a day off a week to enjoy living in cali or is it all work work work? I know its too different to compare but, whats life like the last two yrs of medical school (rotations) compared to the first two yrs of med school. Which of the two was the most draining? Thanks for taking time to answer my questions man!

people will complain about anything. They go to St. Maarten to go to school...they complain. They go to the US and NOT the UK...by choice...for clinicals and they complain.

You give them a million dolars...they complain because of the taxes they have to pay on it.

catch my drift?

you can't listen to things others say. I'm going to NY and am going to make the most of it. I move in 8 days. I'm sure there will be things to complain about...but I'm sure there will be many other positives that take care of the negatives.

who the hell wants to complain when your living in NY! I went to school in Boston and I loved the urban lifestyle. Never realized how closed minded I was about the world around me. I would be pumped up cookie if I were you. Your going to the big apple! And to top it off your going to study medicine! Thats great! Just the smell of the subway, the feeling of taking the underground to work....no stupid cars, thats awesome! Plus New York has an awesome music scene! Good luck in NY cookie!

Actually, complaining is a prereq for going into med school.

I'm complaining about Bakersfield right now.. even though its not bad. I just need something to do while I waste another 3 weeks before clinicals then I'll complain about how much I loved SXM.

Seattle on the plus side has Boeing. On the negative: home of Microsoft and the Evil Empire (Starbucks)

Uh...I haven't started yet. I start on 7/25/2005, so I'll let everyone know then...should be interesting to post my experiences here and see how they compare with other AUC students already in clinicals.

Good luck!
