hey folks..took my exam yesterday..have seen this site a few times..glad i did..lotsa useful tips..high yield info etc..ok enough socialising..lemme cut to the chase..right..my exam was n even mix of all subjects..most doable..well atleast i think so..scores will reveal how good my though process was..
most important..!)read kaplan notes..at least 3-4 times..know it like the back of ur hand ..no use givin ur exam if u don kno it like that...ur jus wastin ur money...push ur exam if u don know it like that..2)that done do the q bank (kaplan)..essential..*** n life saving...3)first aid...quick look for a few things not given in kap notes..4)robbins path for pictures {only pics..kap notes r good enough}..look at the pics while u read the notes..great stategy..5)each n every pic in any subject in kap notes..tables graphs ct s mri s essential to review .high yield on my exam..mol bio.anat.. don neglect artery venous ln supply of all abdomenal organs...embryology. arch.derivaties.spinal cord lesions..path ..vwd..lung malignancies ..paraneoplatics etc.acid base graphs..autonomic before after etc..graph..glom neph..pics..anti neoplastic drug..MECH OF RESISTANCE!!!..can u believe that??..had 2 questions on that..startle myoclonus..cjd..chr granulomat dis..neutrophil chemotactic defects..cd 1a + cells...post transcrip lation modif..micro staph strept tables in kap notes..fungi pic histoplasma blastomyc..physio female endocrines...endocrine is high yield..very..gi hormones effect on stom motility..pharma...ans agonists antagon graphs..what acts at which receptor..effects etc..beh sci..type 1 type 2 errors..power..confidence intervals...normal bell shaped graph...values under each seg...milestones..drug abuse..lots of response type questions..bioch..know the cycle pics...deficiencies...vit b 6 12 thiamine def i results in waht enzyme inactivation etc..anticipation...trisomy 13 18 know which causes what exactly
lots of application of all that uv read...keep ur head cool.. n open...read the question properly paying attention to the specific wording...dead give away clues usually lie embedded...when 2 answrs look same look for clue in question...do it quickly though..time for me was jus suffi each block...had like 3 4 mins left in each block...not a problem generally...finish each ques as u come to it...u wont get time to get back to it...make sure not to spend more than 2 min on the toughies which u think u can figure out.if u don kno some thing jus go with ur gut ..quick.there will b bout 20 25 ques each block which ul kno dead straight so that will save ur time for the biggies...hope the aforementioned is of some use to u all...
