Hi guys
This is my story. I studied for 1 month seriously (presently completing my PhD). I studied Step 2 notes, did Q bank, and CCS cases from UW, solved every question bank that I could lay my hands on, especially Swanson's --- it mellows your aggressiveness in management and gives you the right tone of being a "family physician", which I think is the essence of the exam. I did all my CCS cases from UW, once. I think step 2 notes from kap does the trick. This forum helped me a lot in obtaining some good insight into the topics being questioned upon.
Exam day, Day 1 - had 7 blocks, 1 block in emergency and the rest on office care- so guys, please read family practice Qs, that will ace you through the exam. Day 2- again all office blocks.....again.....most Qs on the next step and many on behavioural but most bread and butter cases from all the systems. You should get through it without any problem. I dont have a US experience and it didnt matter to me. But aggreably, most of the Qs had very very close choices, and thank god I must have made the right ones......
CCS cases, UW tops everything, but it is better to practice all those on the software so that you know how to navigate through them. 2 of the cases didnt improve no matter what I did, one was emergency and later on referencing through the literature I found that what I did was the best mode of treatment for that condition - NON INTERVENTION.
Time to thank the crowd- Kiki, Mimi, Dr Man and all the others (sorry guys, am writing in a hurry- got to go and party, so if I have forgotten anybody, please forgive me) who were there for some discussions, although I was not actively involved because of my thesis.
.
Thanks again
