International Medical Schools (other than the carib)

In the US, there are currently many more residencies than graduates of American medical schools to fill them. As a result, graduates of international medical schools do get residencies, even if they do not match with their first choice programs. In order to increase the chances of obtaining the residency, students should:

* attend a well-established international program with a good track record of residency matches
* do well on Steps 1 and 2 of the USMLE
* try to arrange clinical rotations in the US in the particular field as well as in hospitals in which they would like to do a residency

I have yet to be convinced that there are schools outside the Carib (maybe UAG?) that have the same type of 'track' for US students as the best Carib schools.

Exactly.
And one should only consider to a few Carribean schools for admission,that follow the US schools preparatory track.

These schools are[In Alphabetical order, to avoid a war]:
AUC,ROSS,SABA,SGU.

That's a grand total of 4.

There are other schools like MUA[Nevis] ,St.Mathews , St.Eustatia,
but they are not on the CA list.


Now a little about the CA list------If in the future,Medical schools adopt the CA list of approved Med schools all over USA[Very little chance, but a chance nonetheless.Example to moot ,Titanic was supposed to have a very little chance to drown, but drown it did],people who have pawned their savings to go to med school, will be delicensed and would have to work as PA's or Nurses[I am not putting PA's or Nurses down, just explaining that the options available in case of delicensing]

The only other way is to go to Europe,Latin America or Asia.But they do not follow the US curriculum.But you will be a doctor and on passing the steps[1,2,3], you will be able to get licensing in all the 50 states.

But to answer Rst8-historically doctors from India have had the largest presence in US residencies.Most of the slots left vacant after US med grads populate the match, are grabbed by doc from India.
But, these are folks who have already had aa couple or more years of practice.Hence they are well prepared for the steps.I cannot pinpoint any schools as such, since these docs come from a wide spectrum of med schools.
Rst8-if motivation is there, a good med school from anywhere and solid preparation for USMLE will do the trick.
