I am deciding between Saba and AUC. Does anyone know how much travel is required during clinicals in the U.S.?
Thanks

depends where you go, when you get your scores, what site---
if you are at a complete site you might not need to travel other than electives..you might be able to do electives there if you please
now if you are late on scores, sites are full...you might get stuck bouncing around in a region....
but overall...you should expect to move around a couple times...at least for 2 to 3 rotations...would be my best guess

During your elective clinicals you're likely to move around. The only sites I know of where you can do all electives are MI and CA. Another way to limit the number of times you move is if you choose to stay in a large metropolitan area, like NY, where there are several hospitals. However, if you go to other parts of the country then you may be moving around quite a bit.
For example, my husband wants to live in VA, eventually, and we are finding that he will most likely have to move every 4-8 weeks due to limitations the hospitals have on how many visiting student electives you can do at their site. We are trying to set up all of his rotations within a 5-hour radius, but this will still require moving around in VA/WV/TN and possibly other states as well.

cores are a bitmore 'competitive' to stay at one place but electives are easier to stay put for. you can likely do all electives in california, michigan, new york, and posibly maryland and chicago.
most of the people i know in clinicals that have needed to move have only moved once for cores. the way it is set up is by regionbs so if you don't do cores at one site they are split between two such as chicago/ohio, maryland/new york or two cities in california.
fort someone single or without kids i don't see the big deal of moving once or twice if anything it gives you a chance to check out possible residency sites were as i am stuck in michigan come hell or high water
i think you guys are lucky to be able to have the freedom to audition in a few different places, if i don't make a good impression in michigan i am SOL b/c i really can't move the family again....
