Look for places on Moo Cow trail. I lived there for my 4 semesters and only paid $375 for an apt while other students I know were paying $700+ for apartments just like what I was living in. It's only about a 7 min walk from there to school. With my DSL of $90 USD/month and electricity of only $100 USD/month, I lived pretty cheaply my 4 semesters on the island and saved alot of money which I'm needing alot to get settled in Miami.
