The information I am still missing to complete your file is the following:

1) Immunization report

this is taken directly from office of admissions
my application was incomplete because of this, but i dont remember seeing this anywhere in the application, but they told me to send in one. so moderators dont forget to remind people to add this

If they are asking for Immunization records than I think that measn you are accepted. They have never, as ar as I know, asked students for immunization records as an admissions criteria. They usually send a letter after you have been accepted asking for it.

I think they're doing this because a lot of students nearing clinicals procrastinated on this and didn't have all their shots done. I think they want to resolve this problem early in the process and avoid problems down the road. Anyways, before you can see any patients in 4th and 5th semester, you have to have all your shots / work up done. Also, don't forget to have a TB test!

I most sincerely apologize then. The rules must have changed since I applied 15 months ago, so my statements must be outdated. In this case, I do not know the current rules regarding immunizations so I have no good advice. It would be best to call the school and ask how quickly you need to get those forms in and if they must be done before an interview is considered.

I specifically asked about shots a few monthas ago and was told I did not need them so maybe something has changed. I think I asked because it was in the application somewhere but I was assurred by a staff member that immuno shots are not needed until 4tb semester. Here is a blurb from the response from a St. Chris employee:

"...The only time you will have to have up-to-date immuno shots will be when you enter 4th semester, as you will be seeing patients by then, and will also be participating in hospital rounds. This information is given to you in 4th semester, along with the list of shots you require."

Please let us all know if this has changed.

Hey FrenchFrie - I agree with them. Just get in first. I am going to go with what I heard from the staff in Luton and assume I will need some shots prior to 4th semester.

If you can do them now, then get them out of the way.
Otherwise, just have them ready by the 4th semester.

I would do them now because you'll be exposed to a number of people and conditions in this country. It's better to be safe than sorry.

You can get them at the health clinic too. It's up to you.

YES, you do need to send in your immunization records. I guess they just started it for the Sept 2003 term and onward.

I just got wind of it from Louis at the Admissions office. I'll have to go track down the stuff.
