First term students generally (99%) live in doubles, so you will have 1 roommate. After that, you can try for singles, doubles or suites (3, 4 or 6 people).
The bathroom is in the room, so you only share it with your one roommate.

there are no hallway dorm style types of room in SGU if that is what you are afraid of...so there is no communal bathroom

I have read this before that usually 1st term students live on campus and have a roommate. Is it that you are physically in the same room. Like two people sharing a large room together including their own beds. So 2 beds in the same room. Are there any single rooms that 1st termers can go in? I know that married couples have their own place for obvious reasons, but what if you are a student that is 'older'. Example as a 30 yr old, would I have to share the same sleeping quarters with someone- that's younger. Just curious for different options.
Thanks

yes it is 2 beds in one room..not really a large room tho. the size of the superdorm bedroom is quite small. as far as single for 1st termers....forget about it. they are all taken up by the upper termers already. the best chance to get a singe room is by moving off campus but as a 1st termer, you are required to live on campus for 1 term.

and as far as a 30 yr old living with a 2o something...it can happen. but the housing usually will pair you up according to what u put down on ur roommate preference sheet.

Yes, I have a few of those older/younger pairings in my building right now. A single as a first termer will be nearly impossible.

I know atleast 1 "older" first termer who only lived on campus for about a week before moving off campus, but I'm not sure how she did it and if she got her money back from housing. Also, people with pets are allowed to live off campus as first termers.

As far as older students go, as a first term student I was paired up with another guy the same age as myself (40 something). Although we are from different countries, both our native languages are English. I received the assignment by regular mail with my roomates's e-mail address, and I contacted him immediately. He phoned me on a Sunday and we had a nice talk. so it looks compatible. I think if a roomate assignment doesn't work out, you have until August 1 to request a different person. :D

Yeah housing definately tries to match compatible people as much as possible. Just get your preference form in early for the best chances of a good match (age, etc.)

Close jaywalk, but per SGU's website, the average age is 28, at least for the medical school... :-)

there is a kitchen in every room in the SD and a shared kitchen in the suites. in GA there is a communal kitchen area where everyone cooks in (2 bldgs of ppl).

superdorms are laid out like this: you walk in and you are in the kitchen, and on the right is the bathroom. take two steps and you are in the bedroom, which has identical beds, desks, dressers, hangar bars thingies, except on opposite sides of the room. from the door to the far wall is about 10 steps, so yes, it's small, but you have your own kitchen with fridge/freezer, sink, stovetop, microwave. you also have 110 power, so no need to get transformers and whatnot for your appliances. there is also a study lounge on the top floor with desks, internet, etc. i am in a superdorm, and although i'd like to have my own room, for sharing a room, this isn't bad. all the modern conveniences that i am used to, and although the rooms a bit small, you get used to it.
