I am currently a 4th year Exercise Physiology major about to graduate undergrad spring of 2006. I plan on taking the MCAT this summer, however, I am afraid I might be rejected since I am applying so late. Rather than waiting a year doing nothing I was thinking about getting a masters in Exer. Physiology. Do you think applying with a masters degree in Exer. Physiology with lots of research improve my chances of getting into med school or make them worse? Let me know what you think. As always I appreciate any advice you can give.

I know several people in medical school with Master's degrees. I don't see how extra schooling and research can be a bad thing.

Which schools are you thinking of getting into? My husband applied to AUC two months prior to the May start date and got right in; AUC has start dates in Sept/Jan/May.

I was looking into Florida schools since I am currently at the University of Florida. What are some good schools that I have a good shoot at despite the fact that I am applying pretty late. I currently have a 3.3 math and science gpa and I have been scoring consistent 30's and 31's on my practice mcats. Thanks again!

Oh sorry, my husband didn't apply to U.S. medical schools so I have no idea. Besides, ValueMD is for foreign medical students, but you might find someone with info. on FL schools.

Good luck!
