Can an SMU student go through their entire rotations and residencies in the state of NY? Are their any restrictions placed on SMU students in NY?
Also if a student has a strong connection at a teaching hospital that SMU currently does not have down on their website as an affiliated teaching hospital can a student still go their to do their rotations?
Thanks for your help....

Since SMU has full NY state approval I dont see why you wouldnt be able to do all your clinicals and your residency over there.
I was hoping SMU students would be able to do some clinicals at Harvard now that the bond between the two schools seems to be strengthening.
I assume SMU students will begin to try and build bridges with the Harvard professors at SMU and maybe the professors can break the ice for us.
Any chance J.P ?

Harvard rotations would really be sweet. I wonder if Dr. G. can pull a few more strings to make that work, maybe for 1 or 2 rotations.
To answer the question above... I think you can do your rotations at non-smu affiliated sites as long as they are approved by the clinical rotations dean.

Actually, for cores we must have a signed affiliation agreement with the site. But feel free to contact the Director of Clinical Development if you feel you have a strong enough connection. We may get a great new site out of it, and you get to do your rotations where you like.
