I am in premed but I have some friends in Med....I just wanted to know if some of you have failed the physiology final and therefore failed the class...were you allowed a makeup? or anything else such as bonus points so you wouldnt have to take the class over next semester?

Well, I didn't fail but:

1) 20 bonus points were given for doing on-line quizzes/SOAP Notes/Small Groups attendance/etc, so I doubt that there will be any more.

2) From the student manual, page 43:

F: Student whose performance does not meet the standard expected for that discipline.
A student with an “F” grade, or with a grade point average (GPA) below 2.0, is placed on Academic Probation or may be dismissed from the University. An “F” grade in any course with 5 credit hours or more can only be remedied by repeating the course.

So sorry, but doesn't look like it. Completion exams are only allowed for classes of 4 credits or less.

well.....

despite what it says in the manual...... some rules apparently can be bent a bit.

I don't think it would apply to this term ( if you failed after the 20 bonus points...... I don't think there's much the faculty is willing to do)

I know someone who is doing a completion exam from last term - but this could be due to the hurricane.........

the rules aren't firm - but I'd imagine you have to have some kind of special circumstance if it's greater than 2 credits.

Cheers,

Yes there are a couple of people who are still trailing courses that they didn't pass last semester. Those courses will be taken in the summer from what I understand. The rules were bent due to the hurricane I guess. But other than that, you would have to repeat the course. Physio is 5 credits.
