I'm so excited, today I purchased my first two books at Barnes&Noble. I got Moore's Essential Clinical Anatomy 2nd Ed and Anatomy BRS.

I was reading some of the questions in the BRS, and they seem very comprehensive and straight forward. Do these questions reflect the USMLE, and is sthis the style of questions that appear on course exams?

Anyway, I finally have my first 2 medical books. I still have to purchase quite a few more, but now I really feel like a medical student. :D

As a current first semester student, I have some advice for you regarding 1st semester anatomy books...

You really don't need the Moore Essential Clinical Anatomy book. You can use it for a reference, but if it were me, I'd take it right back and get my money. The suggestion of the prof was to get the RRS (rapid review series). I have the BRS and he said that's good also. Even though the RRS isn't on the book list, it would be good to have (that's what he follows).

I also really suggest getting the hiso BRS. It really clears up stuff from the histo lecture.
