I am a current student, and tops in my class. We currently have no instructors for Pharm, Genetics, EPI, and the instructors we do have are PhD's teaching out of their fields.
Did I mention no internet, and the SABA link is a lie just to get your tuition. I have been in contact with six students that have completed the basic sciences and were REFUSED clinical placement and DR. F even cancled their loans.
This place is a total rip off, not to mention the lies and deception about other programs.

Which campus are you at? It can't be the Nevis campus. In the Nevis campus, we have instructors for every course and internet in library. The prof currently teaching Pharm is superb, and there are 2 instructors taking turn to teach Genetics. Please specify. My husband is satisfy with what he is getting in the Nevis campus.
Regarding the clinical placement, I don't know the details of the 6 students you know of, but FYI, in the Nevis campus, there is a policy that students have to graduate the basic science with an average GPA of 2.0 or they will not get clinical placement. That means if a student fail some classes and get most C and few B in his/her course. There may be chance that one will graduate with less than 2.0. I don't mean that was what happen to that 6 students. But this MAY be one of the reason one will not get placement. Also, have these students passed Step I yet? There is also a requirement to pass Step I in 3 attempts. If this requirement is not met, I believe the students need to do their clinical outside of US like England and Ireland which the school will arrange. At lease this is what I know regarding the Nevis campus. I think it would be the same for Belize campus then????
I don't intend to provide false info. So feel free to correct my info if there is any mistake.

MUA NEVIS PROFESSORS
Pharmacology - Dr. B, M.D., Ph.D, Associate Dean of Basic Sciences
Genetics - Dr. R, PhD. & Dr. L, PhD.
Epidemiology - Dr. R, PhD.
All of these professors have reputations for being excellent teachers. I personally have had Dr. Last and Dr. Ross as professors in the Pre-Med Program. All students who have had Dr. Burns also say he is one of the smartest people they have met. They are all well-trained in their subject areas and teach us with great passion in our pursuit of medicine.
There is dial-up internet on the island as well as ADSL in certain parts of the island. MUA is the sister school of SABA.
I am unaware of students who were refused clinical placement. However, there are many who have received clinical placement. Please refer to the MUA website for some information regarding matches as well as a new posting of residencies granted to recent graduates. Also keep in mind that each student must fulfill the requirements for clinical placement in order to advance.[/quote]

Muhammad clearly has demonstarted through his post the need for accuracy and thoroughness in what one elects to write here. But, dear friend, hopefully you can utilize this as a learning experience for that time in the future when you are writing your physician's notes: don't leave it up to the reader to ascertain what you are trying to say . . . .
Good Luck to You!

I am not surprised to hear how bad the teaching is at MUA because the same people own Saba. It is also terrible at Saba.
Go to Ross, SGU, AUC, Statia, or St chris. these schools have better teachers.

Could u please stop bashing schools, I saw your post at Saba and MUA. Have you attended MUA for you to make such comment? Or have you attended all the schools you recommeded above to provide such comment again? First, the person having problem with instructors is in the Belize campus, and I trust the admin would try to rectify the prob. as soon as possible (any sound business man would do that to keep a business running). Also, most teachers in the Nevis campus are very good and knowledgeable. And do keep one thing in mind that things do change in many carribean schools that bad instructors in the past does not necessary exist in present. So for prospective students, please check with current students rather than listen to some old bad experience. In my own opinion, MUA (Nevis) do listen to students, that I know one "not so good" instructor has left. The exact reason I don't know.

I did not attend MUA. I attended Saba and I passed all my exams without any problems, because I had a strong background before attending the school.
But I do pity students that do not have a strong background to be careful with Dr. ********* schools. I feel it is my duty to warn people so they can know what to expect and there in nothing wrong with me doing so.
Sorry you have a problem.
From your logic, that means if I once was a poor cook (in your opinion), I will ALWAYS be a poor cook. It also means if you find my pork chop was poor in your taste, then you can assume Cook A, B, C, D, E, etc are for sure better than me even you haven't tried their food, and you are comfortable to recommend them. I am glad that all my friends and my dear husband gave me time to improve my cooking skills and judge me based on what I am now, not what I was before :) .

What do you call a student who works hard, tunes out negative people, sacrafices, works hard, tunes out negative people,...ohhh did i say works hard and doesnt listen to ALL that is said from negative people? I call that student the next M.D. !
My point: MUA will take you to your goal. The hard part, of course, is to go through that road in one piece. Dont worry too much what's "at the end of the tunnel". Take these small steps first and then the end of this long journey will come. Like I've mentioned before in my previous posts, it's doable...yes, even with MUA!
(one other thing: I cant understand why people bash and say absurd things, usually it happens when they are struggling in school.....maybe it's human nature, maybe it's a defense mechanism, maybe they need to vent, may it's ....oohhh WHATEVER!...uuumm...i really dont care for those folks.....I have my OWN journey and challenges to follow to worry about them. Let them 'project' their feelings, it's all good, because I sure wouldnt want to be "the weakest link"! Goodbye!)
GOOD LUCK Y'ALL!!

We all know who your are Muhhamad - nice try on the coverup name. You just couldn't handle the course work load and failed everything - so you're bailing.
Good luck where ever you go. At least you won't mess up our clinical sites with your bad attitude!
