Hi
I scheduled my own flight trip. It costs significant less than if I buy connecting flight. Anyhow, I wonder if we can tell the airline to route your baggage to the destination as if you buy a connecting flight ticket. Alternatively, I have to pick up my baggage and check to the other airline. Since I have only one hour in San JUAN, I might have to miss the flight if the whole process takes more than one hour. Thanks

I think ur best bet is if u call the airline ur using frm ur departure city...ask em if they will check ur luggage thru...I think normally they do if they have an agreement with the next airline u will have ur flight on...like in my case I called US Airways...n since they have an agreement with both Caribbean Sun and Winair...my stuff will check all the way to Saba...they said I will have to show my tickets for my conecting flights when I check in at US Airways frm my departure city n it should be no prob...

I hope this helps...also this was the info I was given by one customer rep so I hope its correct...I'll find out at the airport lol...

they will not do it, tried it and it was a pain in the rear. you have to pick up your luggage and exit out of san juan security and have your bags rechecked by going through as if you were departing from san juan.

hopefully you will have betrter luck but it was not worth the $100 i saved.....now on the times i traveled with only a bookbag and no chjeck in, it wasn't a big deal...

I just can find any better deal since I come from buffalo. I wished I was given a choice to pay for another 100$. Anyhow, will see how it goes. Thanks

You can check your baggage all the way through - at least I did from Saba to Atlanta, going through San Juan. The kicker is that even if you have checked your baggage through you will most likely have to pick it up in San Juan and recheck. Why? Security.

This trip home was my first time through San Juan - to be perfectly honest, it sucked. Luckily I had checked my baggage through from Saba because my luggage did not leave St. Maarten when I did. It came the next day - as worried as I was this was probably a blessing in disguise as I didn't have to lug my baggage through the SJ airport.

Best of luck in your travels and studies!
