Ive taken the boat back from saba when i went diving there and im pretty sure its only one trip a day.....I know it leaves saba at around 3 and was docked there all day. My guess would be it leaves in the morning from SXM.....btw take dramamine

Hello, This is the beer fairy, I heard someone was looking for me? My phone number is 416-5746 if you come to the island and are looking for someone to keep your glass full. Last night I stocked my fridge in my new place. Other than a few assorted condiments, there are two crisper drawers full of Presidente beers, and the whole bottom shelf is Schaffley, Carib, Heinekens, Amstel Lights, and Coors Lights.

As for the boat (ferry), it leaves St. Maarten once daily at 9:00, be there and hour early. Screw dramamine- there's free beer on the boat. If you're going to puke you might as well be trying to beat 9 beers on the boat ride (my best). Happy sailing!

I called that number and all I got was a husky female voice that said "No hablo ingles, senor! ¿usted tienen gusto de mujeres melenudas?"
Sorta sexy, I thought...

Coming in at 4:55 and making Winair at 5:30 is a little too tight. Spend the night and fly out or take the ferry the next morning. The ferry is a blast if you like boats!

Best of Luck!

Yea, sometimes I like to work on my spanish here. Chain smoking makes my voice husky. With my long, flowing womanly hair, I get confused for one at times.

The invite to drink goes out for all AUC students as well!

A WORD TO THE WISE,

BEWARE OF THE BEER FAIRY. HE IS A WOMAN BRUISER, AND A GOAT MURDERER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe the beer fairy is stressed. Its got to be hard to be a full time med student and full time beer fairy. Maybe he was just protecting the beer from the woman he bruised and the goat he murdered. Im sure there is a logical explanation..... defend yourself beer fairy!

Is anyone on the island? Someone needs to go check on the Beer Fairy. He's been awfully quiet as of late. Make sure he didn't slip into a beer coma or get attacked by a horde of baby goats.

Maybe I hurt his feelings with the bruise comment? :P

I got to saba yesterday for the first time and the winair flight was unforgettable and that is all I can say! Saba is beautiful and the locals are very nice!! We saw a giant black bull sitting in the middle of the road and although I had a few beers and wanted to pet it , I thought of Nate and the donkey. Nate where were you when I needed you? Ive never seen a bull in the middle of the road and I did not know what to do... Everytime I passed one of the five thousand goats on the side of the road, I thought of you!

swinginislanddoc
04-29-2005, 08:04 PM
Hahaha what part of the island did you see that bull in?

If you find English Quarter (just past Windwardside going towards Hell's Gate) and you manage to see a white bull tied up just off the road behind some trees, that's the road I used to live up.

Not that it really matters. It was just funny that I passed a bull all of the time. That's actually the 2nd or 3rd bull that's been tied up there since I started living there.

Alright, enough bull. toodles.

hey there!! the saba bull was in windwardside next to the place you get car insurance. He was black and had this white rope around his neck. i think he was suposed to be tied, but decided to lay in the street and take a nap OR he was looking for that white one that you saw all the time! :))

The Beer Fairy confers a special blessing on those who break the 11 beer record between St. Martin and Saba...

Which is?

Holding their head as they throw up, or a swift kick to the groin?

I know he doesn`t like having his record broken.

Hi there all! There are a few beer fairies on the island. I can personally attest to their efficiency in obliterating the memories of a few block exams! The stella fairy is my personal fav......

Welcome to all you new first semester students

CharlieMD,

Are you planning on joining the ranks of beer fairies, erasing the woes of block exams from the minds of unsuspecting collegues?

Just remember to be an effective beer fairy you must be conscious enough to know what's going on!!

Maybe you could be the liquor fairy, for those of us who prefer mixed drinks over beer. I could use one of those!! :D

I'm not going to give anyone a swift kick to the groin if they can drink 10 or more beers on the boat trip. They will be welcomed into an elite club and will have earned my respect. I'll give them some of the homebrew that i'm going to whip up sometime this week.

Some of the first semesters showed promise the other day at the bar..... I fear a showdown is on the horizon. My 5 man 2nd semester team will consist of myself, the guys who did 10 and 11 on the boat, an ex-navy pilot who routinely drinks a fifth while playing poker, and an 85 pound muslim girl who doesn't drink. She's just in there to fill out our roster.....

Hey Sid,

Ha ha! We will have to see about that. beer fairy status is quite an achievement.. and Nate has a certain flair for the job. I am definately still a novice- beer fairy 101. Hmmmm, i just don't know how i feel about wolf or chemist holding my head and kicking me in the groin.....

Well, we got our cadavers today and had our first lecture, and it was a long day. I don't think I'll be helping out the beer fairy, or drinking any more shots of Saba Spiced Rum for a while now....
After all, I don't want our class to be known as the party class or anything.

Finally got a car....thank god! And a netters and brs is on the way.
So far, I've found that i just type in notes right on the power point slides, and have really enjoyed the professors lectures, as much as lecture can be enjoyed, that is!
Here's to being a team player and helping each other through this thing called med school! :toast:

Hey!

I never said i was going to do any head holding or groin kicking. I just said, Nate *may* do it in retaliation for breaking his record.

If you get drunk and start to barf or fall over, i`m just going to quietly pick your pockets, laugh at you, drink whatever alcohol you left behind, and most likely fall over drunk too. 8) 8)

Ian,
Now wait a second... I know that I have personally seen you as the first one throwing up and passed out in the past. How can you say for sure people won't be picking your pockets?

Wow, we have such helpful and intellectual conversations on here.

I never said this was a one sided situation here. This is a two way street.

I`m sure there are plenty of other evil people out there who would do that same. I`m just saying i`m one of those people who is evil.
