Where is SABA located???

Are SABA and AUC located on the same island? I thought they were on different islands????

Saba University School of Medicine is on the island of Saba (say-bah) which is twenty odd miles from St. Maarten (where AUC is located). It's hard to find on most maps. That's why it's sometimes easiest to look for St. Maarten. Saba is also just north of St. Eustatius (another hard one to find) then St. Kitts, then Nevis.

Another way is to find Puerto Rico on a map and just look east about 100 miles to where the Lesser Antilles turn south and you'll see the whole group.

Keep in mind that Saba's topography is somewhat like a conical party hat with the peak of Mt. Scenery as its apex.

Look at the Bottom. The little thing on the right that looks like a little finger sticking up on your right hand...just to the right is where the school is located. If you follow the road up toward Windwardside from that point, Matthew dorm is located in the little peninsula created by the first hairpin turn. Right aross the road from the school. Should give you anidea of scale as well.

Yeah - and slightly caved in over by the Bottom with a small dimple over by Windwardside, but no elastic strap. Yeah, definitely no elastic strap - at least I think so.

I'll take it a step further and say it's a party hat- no elastic strap, but with streamers at the top. Just pretend the streamers are actually clouds, and they don't go away no matter how clear the rest of the sky is. Lets pretend the hat has a little brim on it as well so toy planes can land.

I think it's gonna be cool to say I lived in a place called Hell's Gate, near Booby Hill. That's just too funny. Maybe not that much fun in real life, but it's funny to watch the reaction when I tell the mother-in-law. :lol:

This reminds me of a joke:
There was an elderly woman whose husband passed away. For those of you that have never been to the Island. Download "Google Earth" , type in Sint Marteen and "voila" Saba is located just a tad southwest. When you scroll in close enough I believe you can actually see Sabaspouse hanging her laundry....:) ... This is a cool overview of the island. You can see the Airport runway, The Road, The University,The Bottom, Windwardside, etc.. It also gives you an idea as to the proximity to the other islands... WOW... You giys aren't kidding when you say "The Road" winds through the island.... ..
