I just got an email today from my admissions advisor saying that the admissions committee wants to conduct a personal interview with me. Apparently it will be conducted by the dean of admissions. Has this happened to any one else? I thought AUC doesn't use an interview.

the concensus seems to be that they use the interview with borderline candidates to make a final choice but no one knows for sure. it seems to be random...??

I don't get this.... I am seeing more and more people getting accepted to semesters 12 months and more in advance. Is this a case of you (the applicant) wanting to take this much time off voluntarily to get affairs in order before starting, or what? I applied just far enough in advance to allow for acceptance and matriculation immediately after meeting all the requirments, meaning I was still finishing up req'd courses when they reviewed my app. I am not sure if they are still doing conditional acceptances like that or not.
Just seems to me that I would (and did) want to start as soon as possible, so I could finish as soon as possible. Is this not a common desire???
Just curious...

I also applied for the earliest possible semester.
The fast you get there, the faster you can get out.

Yeah guys, it is generally better to apply for an earlier semester. If you don't get accepted for the earliest one, they will sometimes defer you to the next one. It's basically a no loss situation. Also, if you get accepted, you can always defer your acceptance to a later semester, assuming there are spots available. If you are borderline, however, I wouldn't suggest applying for a summer semester and then trying to defer to Fall, they might bump you all the way to spring.
