I was just wondering do you guys get time to travel throughout Europe during the semester, like after midterms or tests or a weekend get away, considering Luton has such cheap flights through Easy Jet?

Actually Yeah. A lot of people save up their absences and go on small holidays throughout the semester. Sometimes after studying so hard for exams it is nice to go to south of france for a weekend or maybe go party hard in Ibiza.

I'll be attending Equestrian shows likely, watching my daughter kick some Duke's child's rear end in Show Jumping and X-Country.

Trips will be confined to major breaks.

You just have to manage your time well.
Also take advantage of the weeks we have bank holidays.
We're off on bank holidays.

Usually they're on Mondays. Is there one on the 25th?
I know there's some Indian event going on in Luton sometime this week.
I think it's called Mela.

They are British holidays.
Everything closes on those days and they have some festivals.
Look for a British calendar and see when the next one is.

I think that holiday is where the Indians and the Pakistani's meet at the A505 corner and start throwing rocks at each other. It is an old tradition I hear.

The west side of Luton has a higher concentration of Indians and Middle
Easterners while the rest of Luton has British and European whites.
It's about 50-50. It's not a ghetto but a middle class town.
It's not as posh as the well known areas.

nah, but really it's not that bad of a conflict, the older generation just has problems with each other because of the whole British rule and countries breaking up in the 1940's, but the new generation of kids and adults are more tolerant and are makin more progress to heal those wounds from the past. Supposedly both India and Pakistan will be sending peacekeeping troops to Iraq to help the USA out. It should be interesting to watch both countries troops workin together :D

IDOM, in your last post, didn't you mean to say "It should be interesting to watch all three countries troops workin together?" Unless Indian and Pakistani troops plan on ignoring the US troops while they are in Iraq?

Ya That's what I meant :D , but more specifically it would be interesting to watch Indian and Pakistani troops working with each other instead of shooting at each other.

They will give the term "Friendly Fire" a whole new meaning...
