Hey Everyone,

I am currently filling out my application and wondered if you could help me out. In the financial information section, there is a question that asks:

what are the current government restrictions on taking money out of your country for purposes of your education abroad?

I wasn't aware that there was any restrictions. Does anyone know the answer to this, or where I could find out?

Thanks for your help!

Also, is it true that in order to pay tuition to the university that you must fill out a special form to the Canadian government declaring the amount?

Hi C-D,

I am Canadian, from Toronto, and am in first term at SGU.

On my application I indicated that there are NO restrictions on taking money out of the country for education. Further, I did not complete any special form for the Canadian government other than for OSAP (Ontario Students Assistance Program. ie Ont government student loans).

Let me know if you have any more questions.

There is in fact a restriction, which you should state in order to be fairly considered for the SGU scholarships. The canadian government doesn't allow you to borrow full cost if you study outside outside Canada. You are only allowed to borrow $150CND per instructional week of study. You should put that on as the restriction.
