hey yall
i was wondering if you could help me
i know that sgu does not offer loans in any type of way for pre med students who attend there
but i was wondering about what other options there are on how to pay for it
i really want to go to SGU but i wont be able to pay for it out of pocket
if you could give me some options; that'd be great
thank you

Welcome to the forum!
See the following threads:
http://www.valuemd.com/ftopic31513.html
http://www.valuemd.com/ftopic30785.html
http://www.valuemd.com/ftopic28863.html
and many more...please do a search. Also the best way to find out is through the Bayshore office, call then and talk to a financial aid counselor.
The best thing to do is to do premed in the states as opposed to SGU for the financial end as well as giving yourself a chance to get into a US school (less hoops in the future). Dont shortchange your future and dont take shortcuts now which you will pay for later...

Hey I was in the same situation as you....I tried every loan possible.... SGU's premed program doesnt have a connection with any loan company...they told me to get a private loan in which I have to pay interest and start paying back immediately... I didnt want to do that....so my dad put it on his credit card like a wire transfer type of thing....it was complicated ...but if you wanna know how and what we did pm me:)

ok what we did was...we called SGU and I spoke to this lady ...she was really nice to me which made it work....they dont allow you to pay for your tuition on a credit card...so my dad had like enough money on his credit line...so say you have a $10,000 credit line and you used lets say $1,000....so you have $9,000 left over....so the tution was $9339...my dad had a larger credit limit so that was good...we called up the credit card company and asked them if they could send a check to the school with the money left on the credit line....so its like a wire transfer where the school gets the money .... so the credit card people said no..i called again someone said yes....i called SGU and this lady gave me all the info to do a wire transfer...she told me that I have to keep up with it because when the check arrives from my dads credit card company the check goes straight to SGU's bank...so there is no way of knowing that ...that specific amount was your money...all they will see is hey ok today 10 checks came in for $9339...there would be no way of knowing one of them was mine ...you know what i mean?....so i called the credit card company back and someone said no i cant do that....i called again and someone else said i could lol...so finally i sat on the phone for a half hour ....tryin to make sure where it was going and what account it was going into...they tried to put my name on it but i think they abbreviated it cuz there is not enough room to make it fit...so it was like taking a risk...the whole process was gonna take 10days...and it was weird cuz in exactly 10 days it was the deadline to pay...so its like it had to work or else i wouldnt be able to go and register....so once that was done...i would call up the credit card company(citibank) and SGU's bank(bank of america) EVERYDAY!!..lol...so once i found out the check had been processed out to the bank I called Bank of America everyday!....There was this guy who gave me his name and told me to call at a specific time when the mail came...so on like the 8th day I called Bank of America and the guy told me to hold cuz the mail just came and there was an envelope with citibank on it...and it was mine....so he depositied it...and i told him to fax me some proof so i can show the school thats my tuituion being deposited ....so i told him wait i will call the lady at SGU and tell her to call you...so I called her right then and there and told her to call that same guy and talk to him...she called him and spoke to him and got the deposit slip sent over and it was all finally over and done with....now my dad has a credit card with 0% interest for 12 months....so in 3 months it will be 12 months and they will start chargin you interest on your monthly charges so my dad will just do another 12month 0% balance transfer to another credit card till i go to med school and get some loans....hope i didnt confuse you but its complicated and u needed to know every detail!!!
