View Full Version : Teri vs. Bank.
Salutations:
I was simply wondering if anyone decided to get a loan from a bank as opposed to going through Teri, especially since they are pretty strict when it comes to loans. If anyone has decided to take a loan from their bank, can you let me know which bank and how much you can actually borrow? Thanks.

I think the difficulty with most bank loans is that they expect you to start paying them back immediately. TERI allows you to start once you are out of Residency (of course they capitalize interest in the mean time).
Best of Luck!

Yes, i and many other students from Canada decided to get a bank loan...some of the advantages is that the interest is free...there is not initial etc....fee.......and its very flexible like they will approve you for a big amount like 150000 and then you can use it a as you go.....but on draw back is that you have to pay interest on the amount you transfer from the Line of Credit to your regular checking or savings account.....but usually the interest low as in Canada like 5.0% a year.....and the interest money is just automatically deducted from you checking or saving account....its like you have more control over your money and there is not need to school approval...only thing you need it school acceptance letter....and an account with your bank and may be a co-signer or someone you know working at the bank...like a good friend....
Hope this helps,

Siddman, do you think the same is obtainable in US? That seems less stressful.
