Hi guys! I got some trouble lately and I would really appreciate ur help :)
to get into 3rd year of premed from SGU, we need 60 credits of undergraduate work (for North American applicants). I already have 75 credits of undergraduate under my belt. However, I HAD TO CANCEL THIS SEMESTER (THAT'S WINTER 2005) DUE TO PERSONAL REASONS AND THE STUDENT STRIKE HERE IN QUEBEC (THAT'S CANADA). So I wonder if my cancellation will affect my admission to SGU even if I have 75 credits, far more exceeding the 60 credits demanded by the university??

PLEASE HELP, I WILL SEND MY APPLICATION VERY VERY SOON !!!
P.S. PLEASE ANSWER ME OR SEND ME A PRIVATE MESSAGE

THANKS GUYS !!!! 8)

in our communist country more often than not publicly funded entities go on strike. usual disruption of services gets the message across but the last 10 years or so its just a nuisance. in canada we get doctor strikes, nurse strikes, hospital employee unions, schools, universities, police, fire department, etc....

unions are to blame. our country would be a whole lot better if we didnt have unions. unions keep old non efficient workers who sit there doing nothing claiming their seniority. worse than that they demand more money for doing a lot less.

Must be that French influence -- they seemingly have strikes daily...

Don't know about unions, but they just went on strike in March to protest the 35 hour work week...

I am glad u guys are posting answers on my message. However, I am a serious prospective student seeking helps from students who have already made the cut to medschool. I deeply respect ur advice and opinion, but I appreciate more serious and relevant answers. Please don't forget, not too long ago, u guys were in my shoe

with all respects ...

P.S. please SGU premed students, help me ... I can't just call Bayshore every single time I have a tiny problem, as a prospective student, I have the responsibility to do my own homework before sending out my application. PLEASE BE KIND
:P

no need to yell. your question is of a unique nature and that is why i suggested you phone bayshore. talk to lorie or ***** and they will help you out. they are superb in answering questions. they are recruiters so dont worry about asking them dumb questions because they will have the real answer for you.

i had a strange situation myself because my university wouldnt send them my official transcript due to unpaid parking ticket at the school parking lot. needless to say there was some administration hassel which got sorted out with the help of those two lovely ladies.

i dont think a situation like yours has really occured yet so when you find out do us a favour and post it here.

it was fun however to pay off my parking tickets as i drove my 1974 buick lesabre through their lawn with the complements of a couple of big donuts right to the gestapo office so i could give the $7.50 for my unpaid fine.

lesson of the day? rent a tank like an A1 Abrahams or something fun like that and see how much dirt you can chew up.

Hey RestlessEye,

I didn't realise you were canadian - where did you go to school? just curious.
I almost had the parking ticket thing happen at UWO - for a ticket I didn't realise I had!! (I guess someone took it off my car and put it on their own to avoid getting a ticket).

and for the student who started this thread:

you really need to phone Bayshore and ask them, we can only offer speculation about what they're going to tell you.

I didn't know there was a strike in Quebec.

on an aside: unions aren't always a bad thing - just imagine how mistreated some workers would be without them......

and on a related note: Wal-Mart is having issues in Quebec, due to the unionisation push. They've already closed at least one store over it (although they claim that the store was unprofitable - although I don't begin to see how this is possible..... )

Cheers,

Silenthunder
