Did anyone find the recent residency fair held in Brooklyn to be helpful?
What did you like? What did you dislike?

I thought the whole thing was a little embarrasing but it did strike up some nostalgia from middle school being served cafeteria food like that. I aslo thought all the statsistics they gave us about IMGs, the steps and residency match etc.. pointless. I would have liked to have heard about the performance of SGU students. So overall I thought the whole thing was somewhat of a waste of time.

Least you understood that the stats were FMGs overall and not reflective of SGU stats. When I was there last year there were students about ready to cry when they saw the stats and started saying that SGU deceived us etc etc. When I approached them and told them that these were overall FMG stats and if you were to look at SGU stats and compare them we (along with Ross and Saba) probably bring the FMG stats up. They realized it was overall and not necessarily reflective of SGU stats. But it woke some people who were sleeping...

Yeah it made me look up from my game of tetris I had going on my phone. I figured they would want to post SGU stats after that to show how the differences but nope they did not. I suspect some people in my class had the same reaction as the ones in last year because there were quite a few sighs and moans etc... Kinda funny.

Maybe its a psychological thing so that the students prepare and do well on step 2. You know...the scare you to death technique we learn during our psych rotation.
