A 4000 dollar deduction from tuition, what an incentive, unfortunately my graduation is may 21st. Ugh, perfect timing, lol.

Dear Accepted Student:

Although Ross University enrolls new students at three times each year (January, May and September), we receive a high proportion of applications for September starts. We encourage September applicants to consider other starting dates, but September classes still tend to fill up earlier, leaving waitlisted students whom we cannot accommodate at that time of the year.

Our mission centers on expanding the opportunities for an excellent medical education; we do that best when our teaching staff and support resources are utilized evenly throughout the year. With September 2005 likely to become oversubscribed, and with seats still available for the May 2005 semester, the University is seeking to accelerate incoming students from September to May (starting the degree program four months earlier).

We recognize that some of our September incoming students are completing prerequisite coursework in the months before they begin at Ross, but we believe that others may have more flexibility in their starting dates.

To open up room in our September 2005 starting class, we are offering a financial incentive to those who currently hold confirmed acceptances for September:

If you can arrange to begin enrollment on May 4 (with our help in fast-tracking your financial aid, housing and visa processing), we will reduce your tuition for the May 2005 semester by $4000.

If you are presently confirmed for September and you are interested in this incentive, please contact one of our New Student Coordinators, Mr. Kevin Niessen (extension 2638), or Mr. Edward Yao (extension 2662) at 888-404-7677. We need to hear from you by April 15th so that we can finalize the May incoming roster and provide you enough time to arrive on campus for orientation. If you are interested, we advise you to respond quickly; we may have to withdraw this offer before that date based on the volume of responses and remaining seating capacity.

Your willingness to adjust your starting date can provide another qualified applicant a chance to pursue the same dream - and provide you with both a head start and a financial benefit. Please consider this possibility. Thank you.

Sincerely,

**** Woodward
Vice President Enrollment Management
Dean of Admissions

Note: This offer is available only to applicants who have been accepted as new 1st-semester students in Ross University School of Medicine for the September 2005 semester. It is not available to previously or currently enrolled students, nor to those enrolling in a preparatory program (MERP).

I guess that most of the traditional studnts that are coming directly out of college only can start in September. They probably have many more good students then they can handle for Septembe. Aside from the $4000 incentive which I wished my son had been able to get, since it pays for eitght months of decent apartment living in Dominica, if you can start earlier in a smaller class it would seem beneficial. Less people to a cadaver for one thing and a four month area where the clinical rotations can be spread apart for a little r & r.
