I sent my on what I would guess would be called high bond paper (major rag content - almost like a diploma) with a golden hue to it - no kidding!! I bought a new cartridge for my printer, printed out a few copies and put together what I thought were the best looking sheets. It seems funny to think of it now, but I will always remember just how anxious I felt when I put together my applications.
My suggestion is to send something that looks good and reflects your personality. Have someone check it for spelling and make sure everything you put on it is accurate. They will look over your app before you are interviewed and will probably ask questions from it so keep a copy handy.
Once you get it in the mail (I sent my Express Mail from the PO just to speed things up a little) give yourself a little break and try not to worry.
Best of Luck!
ps - 2 LOR's and personal statement was a very wordy 2 pages <-- imagine that!

I did mine in crayons.... Seriously though, I didn't do anything special. I think that my resume speaks louder than how it is sumbitted (to a certain extent). I used a slightly heavier paper than normal, and made sure the ink wasn't low- that's it. You might want to spritz it with some perfume though..... anything to give you the edge.
